Ty Hafan team up with SportStars to provide sports equipment for children

The Children's Hospice Ty Hafan have received a sporting boost this week in the form of a cheque for £1,500 from the children's sports coaching company Sportstars. Tŷ Hafan, which provides care and support for families with children who suffer from a life-limiting illness, plans to spend the donation on specialist sports equipment to help give disabled children in their care better access to sport.
The Managing Director of Sportstars, James Taylor, chose to donate half of his prize money for winning the 2006 Welsh Shell Livewire Young Entrepreneur of the Year to the children's hospice to help the children experience the benefits and pleasures of sport. James Taylor, 25, commented "whilst we currently offer sports coaching for children in schools in Cardiff, and holiday courses throughout South Wales, we have yet to move into the area of disabled children's sport, something which I am highly passionate about after completing my PGCE in working with people with learning difficulties."
"Our goal is to spread the benefits and pleasures of sport to as many children as possible regardless of ability so it seemed very fitting to make a sporting contribution to this wonderful children's charity. I have great admiration for the work being done at Ty Hafan and Sportstars Wales will continue to develop a supporting relationship with the charity. We look forward to hosting a fantastic sporting festival for the children in the summer."
