SuperStars announces competitor takeover

15/08/11

SuperStars, a leading child development company has completed a takeover of one of its competitors as it looks to strengthen its presence across the UK.

The company which specialises covering planning, preparation and assessment (PPA) time in schools has taken over Rising Stars, a Cardiff-based company, as it continues to embark on its strategic growth plan.

Rising Stars has served local schools since 2010 and as part of the take over its existing clients will be consolidated with the SuperStars customer base of schools in south Wales and across the bridge.

James Taylor, managing director of SuperStars said: “Over the last six years we have grown the business organically, however bringing Rising Stars under the SuperStars umbrella marks an important stage in our strategic growth plan and provides us with an opportunity to further accelerate our growth in the marketplace by acquiring a complementary business.”

As part of the takeover, Rising Stars founder Lewis Peach will join the SuperStars team to head up the company’s Hereford office which opened at the end of 2010. Mr Peach, who brings with him a wealth of experience in the education sector will also receive a percentage of any profits made from the Hereford branch.

Continued James: “We embarked on this takeover because we were impressed with the company’s client base and track record. To ensure we remain committed to offering a high level of services we have appointed Lewis to oversee and further develop our Hereford branch in addition to employing several new members of staff to ensure we continue deliver programmes to school inspection standards as the company continues to grow.”

Established by James Taylor in 2005, SuperStars was originally launched as SportStars before being rebranded in 2010 to incorporate the company’s diverse offering including sports coaching, art and music lessons, afterschool clubs and holiday courses. The company has continued to roll out its services across the UK and opened offices in Bristol, Hereford and Liverpool.
