Charity calls in big hitters

James Taylor, managing director of SuperStars, joined nine others and committed more than ten weeks to learn how to box. He took on Tim James in the infamous ‘fight club’ night at the Elite Fitness Gym, Fairwater on Saturday 12th November.

All proceeds will be donated to Help for Heroes, a charity dedicated to helping those who served in the recent conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Mr Taylor, who runs a Cardiff-based child development company, commented, “I am delighted to be involved in raising money for such an invaluable cause, which I think in many ways has touched us all. So far we have collectively raised £1,300 for this event and the gym has donated over £10,000 since starting the fight club.”

“Preparing for the match on Saturday has been no mean feat, as I have never tried my hand at boxing before. I am in the business of encouraging children to play more sports and be more active though, so thought I should put my money where my mouth is and give it a go.”
