Story of a SuperStar

Music specialist, Amy Hall

For six months I gave a boy with autism 1-1 singing lessons.

He was known to be extremely difficult in class and could be aggressive towards the other children. However, when he was singing he became focused and calm. He told me how he liked to make up songs so we started to look at songwriting.

He had a younger sister who was scared of the dark so we wrote a song for her called ‘Bright Light, Night Light’.

We recorded the song and produced a CD, which he sold at the school fair, raising money for the school. He later performed the song at the end of year concert.

Every child has a talent. We’re here to help them discover what they can do, grow in confidence and look forward to a bright future.
